Actors
Casting Policy
We attend the Theatre Bay Area Generals www.theatrebayarea.org. AlterTheater firmly believes in inclusive casting, and in using color to challenge rather than reinforce stereotypes. Our policy is to cast first from within our artistic ensemble.
The best way to work with us is to let us know that you’re interested in us and invite us to see your work. If you’re in a show, send us a postcard. We accept headshots & resumes from Equity and non-Equity actors. If you’re a resident of Marin county, please note that in your cover letter. We strongly encourage actors who speak Spanish.

For full-length plays
We are not currently accepting unsolicited manuscripts, except through agent submissions.
Materials will not be returned.

Technical Artists
We are particularly interested in working with technical artists who are intrigued and challenged by designing for & working in non-traditional venues. We work with existing resources in our community to create our technical landscape. We pride ourselves on finding minimalist but creative solutions that support our storytelling. We are especially looking for artists who wish to grow into part of our ensemble.
We accept letters and resumes year-round:
